Farmerville Jaycees are based in Farmerville, Louisiana.
Farmerville is the parish seat of Union Parish. The Farmerville Jaycees consist of about 30 young men and women who strive to make a positive and economic impact in our community. The Farmerville Jaycees were chartered on September 1, 1955. We were the "National Chapter of the Month" September '98, for meeting new member add goal based on chapter population division.
Lake D'Arbonne State Park 400' Fishing Pier

Farmerville is the Home of Lake D'Arbonne and the Lake D'Arbonne State Park.
Lake D'Arbonne is a 15,250 acre man-made lake that is fed by several local tributaries,
i.e. Corney Creek, Stowe Creek, D'Arbonne Bayou and Cane Creek.
The Lake D'Arbonne State Park is a 655 acre park that borders Lake D'Arbonne.


The Farmerville Jaycees are the official sponsors of the Louisiana Watermelon Festival.
The 1st Louisiana Watermelon Festival was held the last weekend in July, 1963.
The festival is held the last weekend of July each year. The next festival will be July 25-26, 2003.
The festival begins with a street dance on Friday night and concludes on Saturday night
at the pageant with the crowning of the new Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival.

Miss Louisiana Pageant


The Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival Pageant is one of the longest continually running pageants in the state. The pageant is a preliminary to the Miss Louisiana Pageant. Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival 2000, Kati Guyton was the winner of the Miss Louisiana 2001 crown. Kati was the first Miss Watermelon to win the crown since 1976 when 1975 Miss Louisiana Watermelon, Becky Gray Wilson, was named Miss Louisiana and went on to compete in the Miss America pageant. The scholarship prize awards for our 2004 pageant totaled over $3000. There were over 70 girls competing in 6 different age groups in last years Louisiana Watermelon Festival pageant.
